Day 1 – Heading to Nairobi
Our journey starts today! Leaving Cape Town for Nairobi. Will be mostly a day of flying and my first time on Kenya Air. Looking forward to our adventure and exploring Nairobi before setting off on safari.

Day 4 – Hippo vs Lion

Day 5 – Masai Mara scenes
Agreed to head back and try to experience the migration. Off to the Mara River and the Sand River for an all-day excursion visiting crossing points in search of the herds. Day 6 – Tanzania, crossing in action
Time for some exercise, did a hike up the Oloololo escarpment before breakfast, then the start of our onward journey. Magnificent view of the Masai Mara and the animal activity. Saw a fresh giraffe carcass with about 20 vultures at it, am sure the lions or hyenas would arrive later in the day! Had to say goodbye to Bateleur Camp and head for Tanzania. The …
Day 7 – Circle of life – herds of wildebeest, carcasses, predators, scavangers.

Day 8 – Elephant encounter
Morning coffee in our tent and Glenn is off, sunrise photo opportunity!!! Packed and ready for breakfast we headed back to main camp quite keen to get a photo of the ant “crossing”. Day 9 – Cycling at Lake Manyara
By the time we went down to breakfast the chefs were hard at work. The tandoor oven was on, and a leg of pork was smoking for dinner – how awesome is that. Day 10 – Ngorongoro Crater
Spent most of the morning on a jeep – did see lions again and again. It took about 2.5 hours to get to Lake Manyara airport where we waited for our next ride to the Crater.
