Woke up at 6am and enjoyed coffee on the river watching the sunrise. Then it was packing up and heading for Botswana. We had about a 5-hour drive from Runda across the border between Namibia and Botswana. Had lots of advice on how to handle the border crossing and all the challenges of fresh food etc. It was a synch and they charged us less than US$25 per car!!! Never even looked in our fridge… Arrived at Drotsky’s Cabin camp site – another great setting along the river. Only problem is monkeys, a lot of then so had to close up everything to avoid finding our tent or car turned upside down. We decided on a sunset cruise after setting up camp. The sunset cruise was more than we could imagine – not only did we enjoy bubbly and Windhoek watching the sunset, we saw a plethora of bird life, crocodiles, a leguan (monitor lizard) and a hippo. Not bad in one hour. Given the border challenges we had opted for dinner at the lodge and enjoyed a scrumptious meal accompanied by a bottle of Zonnebloem Merlot.
