Up at 6am to pack up and be at our drop off point by 8am. Asco drivers met us to check and accept our 4×4’s, they were driving them back to Windhoek and we were heading to Victoria Falls. Had arranged transfers to the border and then on to Vic Falls. A bit of a slow border crossing due to all the tourists and only one immigration counter! It was okay, we were rewarded with a warm welcome at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge. A night of luxury was in store. We had a quick lunch then headed out to explore the falls – what an incredible sight. Spent about 3 hours there and then headed back for my first bath and hairdryer in 3+ weeks. Felt good to be clean and my hair looked more respectable!!! We enjoyed our last sundowners while watching sunset over the bush. As it got dark the sliver of a new moon appeared and Jupiter, Mars and Venus lined up nearby. We opted for dinner at the The Lodge – crocodile and warthog fillets were the favourites with a lovely bottle of Vergelegen 2009 Cabernet. We toasted to a great trip.
