After a lovely breakfast, we bid farewell to Bisate Lodge. We were off on our journey back to Kigali. Lovely driving through the villages and observing and learning about village life.

Interesting fact – due to Covid, Kigali is working towards a cashless society and introduced a mobile phone based payment system called Moto. Although US$ still welcomed.

Stopped at a local basket shop – Irebe and bought a couple of authentic baskets for our LA home, excited to receive these once we arrive back home. Glenn just rolled his eyes, not sure he was 100% behind my purchase.

Wrapped up our time in Kigali with a visit to Choice Kigali. We purchased an original painting by Emmanuel Nkuranga. Have the perfect spot for it in LA. Emmanuel and his wife Lauren hosted us to dinner at his restaurant. Lovely evening, learnt more about Rwanda – such an amazing country.
